What is MAB?

The Major Activities Board (MAB) is a recognized student organization (RSO) that brings concerts and other entertainment events to the University of Chicago campus. Members of the organization choose and book the acts, produce the events, create publicity materials, and manage all other aspects of the show. We are part of a long-standing tradition at UChicago of bringing people together through music, bringing high-quality acts to the University of Chicago for over 40 years. MAB offers affordable and intimate events, and we strive to bring diverse acts that have wide appeal among the student body.

What We Do

We are a passionate, motivated, and diverse group of undergrads who curate, plan, and manage campus entertainment each quarter.

We are involved in every aspect of the event planning process: from artist booking to stage break-down, and everything in between.

MAB events are some of the biggest and most memorable highlights of undergraduate life, and we strive to bring fun, excitement, and much-needed relief to our fellow students.

Committees

Members of the Major Activities Board are passionate and dedicated undergraduate students who work together to promote campus engagement and music discourse. Each member belongs to a specific committee focusing on different aspects of event planning. We are excited to bring new voices, events, and programs to the UChicago community.

Sponsorship

The sponsorship team identifies potential sponsors for our three annual events and approaches them for subsidies, merchandise, and catering. The efforts of the sponsorship representatives should be directed toward fostering long-lasting and strategic partnerships between MAB and sponsors.

Marketing

The marketing team is responsible for brainstorming, designing, and producing marketing plans for shows. Everything from graphic design to social media to copywriting falls under their jurisdiction. They work closely with the board to determine brand angles and objectives in order to enhance campus presence and engagement.

Hospitality

The hospitality team is responsible for coordinating with artists before and day-of-show. Generally, they attend to the artists and assist with all other facets of event production and marketing.
